      De wereld van ikki is a member of USG People. Ikki.nl is a social network aimed at young professionals, helping them make the right career decisions. However incubated in a corporate environment, ikki is not a corporate solution. On the contrary, it is an independent and sometimes even maverick organisation. To get in touch with our target audience, we use a mix of unconventional online marketing techniques such as snacking, buzzing (WoM and trend watching), seeding and referral in combination with more traditional techniques such as content syndication, strategic link building, affiliate marketing and SEA.

      Cofounder of the people’s valley, a leading internet agency. From 2002-2005 I was director and major shareholder at the Rotterdam based internet agency Buro Nieuwe Stijl (BNS, 25 FTE). I also managed the development, marketing and sales of L/Aorta.net, a Microsoft .Net based Content, Catalog, Commerce and Channel management framework.

      In 2005, I sold my shares in BNS to Facing Facts and stayed on for two more years managing the subsidiary in Rotterdam. The two companies were merged to the company that is now known as the people’s valley. From 2006-2007 I was responsible for strategic development, direction and planning of all digital marketing activity and for individual project plans from creation to delivery. I finally sold the rest of my share in the company late 2007. Customers included ANWB, TMG, RAI Group, Rabo Mobiel, Philips MS and Philips CE and various Stork companies.

Through direct sales, successful implementation projects and after sales services, we’d created a six digit growth in an early stage market in one year. By building an indirect sales and services channel, we managed to build sustainable revenue despite the downturn of the market.
